Important Notice:
Over the past few months we have received over 300 wedding dresses to be turned into little angel gowns. 300+ Wedding dresses!!! That’s amazing! We couldn’t have done it without the support and generosity of you, our supporters. Unfortunately, during this time we will have to suspend further donations. We need to have some time to catch up on the wedding dresses we have waiting.
We don’t have enough volunteers to keep up with the demand and our storage space is beyond capacity. We currently have enough wedding dresses to last us a year or more. (Unless we get some new seamstress volunteers;) )This is a very good problem to have.
We are all volunteers doing this very important work – Some of us only have a couple of hours a week or only a few hours a month to work on a gown. We assure you, that every donation we have received, will be turned into an angel gown, but this process requires a lot of time.
It can take about 30 hours of volunteered time to complete the simplest of dresses and anywhere up to 60 hours, if it has a very long train. We need to wash, dry, cut, unpick, iron, trace, cut, design, sew, iron again and then package.
So, unfortunately, until further notice, we are suspending all donations of dresses. Anyone who, at this time has been directed to drop off their dress at one of our locations may still do so. Please check in with us every once in a while as we will post here as well as on our website as to when we will be accepting wedding dress donations again.
We are always in need of supplies and financial support to help us keep going. We will be posting a list of the supplies required to carry on this very important mission. Please check in with us every once in a while as we will post here on our Facebook page, as well as on our website as to when we will be accepting wedding dress donations again.
We thank you all so much for the incredible donations we’ve received from you all and really value the support that you’ve shown and will hopefully continue to show to us, at Precious Angel Gowns.
Donating Your Wedding Gown
We are so happy at the wonderful response and support that we have received from the community. We are so grateful that you are interested in becoming part of our important labour of love by donating your beautiful dress. It takes generous, caring and thoughtful people like you to make this work a reality.
From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for your generosity.
We have drop off locations in:
GTA, York Region, Whitby, Cobourg, London and Georgetown. Please contact us to make arrangements for dropping of your Gown.
It is very important that we provide these Precious Angel garments to a family that is experiencing an infant loss. Not only is the task of choosing a garment overwhelming, it is extremely difficult to find clothes that are small enough or appropriate for an infant burial. These gowns are given in love and can help provide families with a beautiful garment for their beloved baby to rest in on their final journey. Each gown is sewn unique and special!
Any help that you can offer is truly appreciated. We need your continued help and support so that we can continue to gift at absolutely no charge to Hospitals, Funeral Homes and families in Ontario.
